Happy New Year!

Happy new year, guys! We made it!

I don’t know about you, but I love looking at the stats at the end of the year, see what I read, what I liked. Of course, I sort of do this with non-book-related things as well, but it’s not really measurable now, is it.

For me the theme of 2019 seems to be being alone. First time in my live I live on my own. I knew it’s going to be awesome, but boy, I didn’t realise just how much! I also spent most of Christmas alone, doing yoga, watching CSI (I’m on season 12, and I’ve never seen these episodes), and reading. For New Year’s Eve I had no plans whatsoever either, and stayed at home, by myself, and spent the afternoon with Modern Family, pizza (the Pizza Express kind… yuck, don’t recommend) and cheesecake. I may even turn into a hermit, who knows.

But let’s see the book stats, shall we?

As I was scrolling through all the titles I’ve read last year, I gasped a few times. Like, how did Jar of Hearts not make it to my top 10 list?! Or what about Dead Stop? I mean, they were awesome!

I also appear to be a generous soul, with my average rating of 3.7yearinbooks2

But let’s not forget the fact that I ruthlessly DNF books, and don’t rate them. Last year, 14 books were eliminated, their existence forgotten.

Just a few titles that didn’t agree with me in 2019…

How was your New Year’s Eve?
Any specific plans for 2020? Or just going with the flow?

  1. Savoury your freedom this year and thoroughly enjoy doing things for yourself. And make 2020 something special for yourself. And love the stats, I really need to make this a feature over on the wry writer website.

    1. Haha, i read in a book recently (can’t remember which one tho) that the secret to reading a lot is to have a boring life. I think i nailed that! 😀

  2. Happy New Year!!

That’s an impressive number of books and pages, wow! 🙂

I really, really enjoyed living alone as well! I did so for about 5 years and loooved it. I’m not very social, so feeling lonely was never a thing, really.

    1. Oh, yea, i can’t say i’m very social either. Only had 1 guest so far, my best friend. 😀 Everyone keeps asking me about house warming parties… like they don’t know me.
