Monthly Catch Up #10 – October 2018

Even though we are well into autumn, we had a few absolutely beautiful days here in London. You know, the kind of day that sees you sitting in your short sleeves in the garden of your favourite coffee shop, basking in the sunshine.

I’ll be the first to admit, the coffee there often taste like piss (a.k.a. under extracted, to be politically correct), but we just love the vibes and all the cute shit.

I don’t know if it was the warmth of the sun, or the buzz from the coffee, but I even managed to convince my bestie to pop into the charity bookshop with me on our way home, and it didn’t just stop there. She bought three books! Three! My heart melted on the spot.

I also did a buddy read with another friend of mine, and it was a blast. Next time Mark Edwards releases another book, we shall repeat it.

I made my favourite sausage, pumpkin and sage casserole last week, and it was just as damn delicious as I remembered. Onto the stuffed peppers and venison stew next time!

I must say, OWNtober was indeed a great inspiration, so my thanks to Kathy for coming up with this topic. I went through some books I had on my Kindle for ages. I haven’t read anything awful either, so yay for that!

I started Bird Box by Josh Malerman, and damn, isn’t it terrifying?! It hits all the notes for creepy, disturbing and scaretastic.

November is sci-fi month. Yay! I had my eyes on some books for a while that will fit the topic just fine.
