Morning, fellow bookworms & non-bookish readers!
How are you doing on this Sunday morning? I was supposed to be going for a 10k run with my besties, but all three of us are sick. Hello, Spring! I have a feeling that it would have turned out to be disastrous anyway. Even though I’m not a complete wimp, and lift weights in the gym on a regular basis, I can’t run for the life of me.
Anyway… Grab a coffee, or tea, smoothie, whatever floats your boat, and check out some blog posts from around the blogosphere.
May @Forever And Everly started a discussion about privilege in the YA community. I don’t read many YA books, so I was not really aware all that’s been going on, but she did make some good points.
Angelica, The Book Cover Girl was talking about her issues with strong female characters in YA books, and I wholeheartedly agree with her.
In her ‘Bookworms Explained’ series Chloe mentioned some pretty legit reasons why bookworms often reread old favourites.
Have you ever DNFed an ARC? Did you feel guilty? You might want to check out Erin’s post on A Redhead’s Rambling and see what she thought.
Whether you are a newbie, or a seasoned veteran, you might find some handy tips on how to use Goodreads most efficiently, on Evelina’s blog.
Writing negative reviews: yey or nay? Jenn says nay, and I can understand her sentiment. While I think negative reviews are important, writing them is a personal decision, and not everyone like spending time on something they didn’t enjoy.
I love video games, and although I rarely play nowadays, I used to spend hours and hours immersed in some made up world, and it was awesome. Lashaan @Bookidote made me seriously nostalgic with his post about the greatness of video games.
I love reviews! Love reading them, love writing them. But for some reason, review posts don’t seem to get much love lately. Drew @The Tattooed Book Geek listed a few reasons why this might just be the case.
Apparently there are people who say e-books are not real books. Say, what now? Kaisha @The Writing Garnet explained pretty well just why they are wrong.
Are you tired of forced romance in books? Do you miss stories about friendships and platonic relationships? So does Kelly @Another Book In The Wall.
Eurgh, running!🤢🤒😷🤧
Thanks for including my post in the list along with some great other posts. I’d read both Lashaan and Kaisha’s before and they are fantastic but I hadn’t seen the others.
Negative reviews are definitely upto the blogger and if they want to write them but seriously, I don’t get the issue. If people want to write negative reviews then let them likewise those that don’t. It doesn’t make them dishonest. Just let people post what they want.👍
Your not a bad blogger if you dnf an ARC. We can’t like all the books, it’s not possible. Publishers don’t expect you to like all the books anyway so no one should think that they are bad just for DNF’ing an ARC.
I don’t read YA but that post was interesting with valid points though the whole thing about US vs Intl isn’t just for the YA community as it affects bloggers all over the world regardless of the genre that they read.

I hate running too! No idea what possessed me when i agreed to it. Well, right now i can’t breathe through my nose, so at least i got away with not going 😀
I also DNFed an ARC. So far there was only 1 i totally didn’t like and was lucky with the rest, but i have no issues dropping it.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day! 🙂

Ha ha, I’m definitely not a runner but am toying with a running idea to tire my hyper active dog. It may be a win win. Me getting better cardio health and him being less hyper.. still in the ‘thinking about it’ phase though! 🙂
Great links, I enjoyed Kelly’s post and will check the rest of them out as well. Thanks for that, I love discovering new blogs. 🙂

Oh, maybe cycling would work? I mean, if you enjoy cycling, and the doggie can just follow.
I can’t cycle either, so i’m just guessing this could be a thing. I’ve seen people doing it 😀

Ha ha, it’s worth considering. I have a bike.. and it collects dust so that could work! 🙂
I try the walk / run phase first purely because I am prone to accidents and my dog is quite unpredictable … aka falling over the handle bars is perfectly doable in my case and running seems a touch safer option. 😀

Ha… in that case, for sure 😀
