Reading Under the Blankie Gets Some Love – Or the One Lovely Blog Award

So, I was nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award by Malanie@Malanie Loves fiction & Kelly@Just Another Book in the Wall. Thank you, ladies, you are the sweetest!

The Rules
Thank the person who nominated you.
Share 7 facts about yourself.
Nominate 15 bloggers and inform them of the nomination.

So, onto the 7 facts about me, shall we?

My cat is called Toby, and he’s super antisocial. The only time he feels cuddly is when he has a stomach upset and he thinks his life is over.

I love venison burger. Every Friday I go to this pub near the office with my friends, and order the same thing. Or steak. Every. Friday.

I don’t particularly like sweets. Cheesecake, yes, but apart from that, I’d rather eat something cheesy or fruity. Sugar free biscuits are okay too.

Reading is one thing I remember doing all my life. The first book I’ve read on my own when I was six years old was Meet the Woodland Folk by Tony Wolf. I absolutely adored the illustrations and wanted to live in a log house, like all the characters.

I swear. A lot. So, my friend gave me a very appropriate mug I used in the office. Until people started stealing it. Which resulted in even more cursing… So now, for the safety of everyone, I keep it at home.

I don’t have a favourite book. In fact, I get panicky if anyone ever asks me to pick one. It’s just impossible, guys, impossible!

I quit smoking a while back, but now I vape. My flat constantly resembles those old school detective noir scenes where you can’t see anything from the smoke. But damn, it smells so nice!

This is the part where I shall nominate other bloggers.
Jessica @The Awkward Book Blogger
Drew @The Tattoed Book Geek … even though he’s super hardcore and maybe doesn’t want to be referred to as “lovely”!

  1. Interesting facts, nice to get to know you better! We have nothing in common but opposites attract right :-). I have a cat too and she’s anti-social with other people but I did something right I think because she likes me, as long as I sit still and read she’s quite happy :-). I already did this tag a while ago (https://thebelgianreviewer.wordpress.com/2017/05/29/one-lovely-blog-award/) but thank you for nominating me!!

  2. Sigh, sweets are awesome! Cheesecake is equally fantastic too though, yum!😂

That mug is awesome, swearing for the win!

I’ll have you know that my blog is lovely! I have a flowery and pink header image!😂 yeah, I changed it just for sh#ts and giggles and to amuse myself.

Thanks for the tag, I’ll have to see about doing it and being serious or doing it in a fun way.

    Oh, what’s your favourite book?

    1. haha, well yea sort of bad, but necessarily evil! my flatmate went on a shopping spree and got all sorts of sugar free cookies and even chocolate truffels and she swears by them. i haven’t tried them but she’s very strict on what she eats so I’m assuming they are kinda healthy sweets?!

  4. Woo! Congrats on the award. 😀
I love that you can remember what the very first book you read on your own was. Surprisingly, not a lot of people seem to remember that. Mine was Ratty-tatty by Joy Cowley. I was so excited that I could read it by myself that I read it over and over again. lol Cute post! ❤

  5. Thanks so much for nominating me! Your cat Toby sounds adorable! I’m the opposite with you when it comes to sweets. I like all sweets except cheesecake. I don’t hate it but I don’t like it either. What kind of cheesecake do you like the best?

    1. Oh, hard question, because they are all super yummi. But the plain new york one is always a go-to when in doubt 😀
I also like the white & dark chocolate one from a specific cafe.

    1. Haha, thank you 🙂
We used to have a neighbour whose son was also called Toby. It was confusing at times when i went in to the garden and started yelling “Toby, where are you? It’s dinner time” 😀

  6. The mysterious person behind Mad Book Love…how is it that I’ve not shared my name on my blog? It’s Myndi. And thanks for the nomination. And sorry for just seeing it, but I’ve been down and out with a lovely case of pneumonia, and just catching up!

You know, I quit smoking before vaping became a thing. I quit 10 years ago (next month!) and I still think about smoking regularly. When I walk by someone smoking, I slow my pace so I can smell it a little longer (assuming my kids aren’t with me). Strange, I know.

    1. Oh, hello Myndi 🙂 ❤
Hope you are ok now! I was dying of stomach flu these past 5 days as well. Meh.

I have dreams in which i still smoke. I think this is forever!
